Maude is co artistic director of Theatre Pourquoi Pas (previously known as TheatreBuddha). She is passionate about creating innovative. unique and enjoyable theatre. Maude is an accomplished theatre practitioner - she writes. produces and performs and has experience in devising. teaching and casting. Her work is inspired by artists such as Robert Lepage. Howard Barker and John Mighton.
Originally from Canada. she came to London to pursue her work in the theatre and complete a BA in Performance Arts at Mountview Theatre School.
Maude’s producing credits include TPP’s last five international tours. Impetuous Kinship's UK premiere of THE LITTLE GIRL WHO WAS TOO FOND OF MATCHES (Edinburgh 2006) as well as several charitable events in Canada (a 36hrs of Improvisation & a Multi Artistic extravaganza). Her acting credits include The Bill. Roxanne in Cyrano de Bergerac for Vienna English Theatre and six successful years of improvisation in Montreal. As a writer Maude seeks to explore human nature through imagery and language in order to create challenging and relevant work. She believes that good theatre should move. question and finally transform us. Before coming to the UK. she obtained a creative writing certificate from the Université du Québec à Montréal (UQAM) and is now a member of the Advanced Croydon Warehouse Writer’s Group. Maude is also the driving force behind the LONDON PLAYWRIGHTS COLLECTIVE. a new interactive community of writers dedicated to exploring the art of theatre. aiming to bridge the gap between writing and theatre making. She has received positive feedback on her writing from The National. Soho Theatre and Operating Theatre Company. Her short piece THE KID IN THE CUPBOARD was showcased as part of the 2006 International Playwriting Festival.
Maude is currently busy developing Theatre Pourquoi Pas’ UK work. including a series of workshops and upcoming Christmas show. expanding the LPC’s network as well as working in an artist's agency with an A-list clientele.
