Biog
Gay was born in Scotland. She trained at the College of Dramatic Art and University of Glasgow. gaining a diploma in Speech and Drama.
Her many theatre credits include a season at The Royal Shakespeare Company . Teeth ‘N Smiles written and directed by David Hare at Wyndhams Theatre. Rita Sue and Bob Too at the Royal Court directed by Max Stafford Clark. Romeo and Juliet directed by Kenneth Branagh at the Lyric Hammersmith. and Beyond Therapy at the Latchmere directed by Tom Conti.
She toured in The Middle East and Far East in Deathtrap by Ira Levin. & nationally in Voyage Round My Father directed by Kim Grant & in Towards Zero directed by Christopher Renshaw.
She has also appeared in many repertory theatres.
Last year she was seen in Transfigured at the Courtyard Theatre at King’s Cross and in the musical High Spirits at the Bridewell playing Madame Arcati.
She played Nora in the film of Barry Lyndon directed by Stanley Kubrick and Mary in The Duellists directed by Ridley Scott.
A large part of her work has been on television. most recently in The Bill. Lovejoy. London Bridge and earlier this year in Holby City.
Gay also sings with a cabaret group called She Loves.
Since attending a workshop at Barts in December 2002 Gay has worked regularly playing roles in training sessions and for the OSCE’s and PLABS at Barts. St George’s Tooting. and St Mary’s Paddington.
From time to time for the last 15 years she has also done occasional reception work at many Harley Street addresses and NHS surgeries.
