Matthew Dye

Biog
Matthew Dye graduated from Kingston University with a first class degree. Matthew has played many leading roles including Macduff, Iago and Methuselam. He has performed in theatre, film, improvisational comedies, musicals and stand up. He has also worked as a compeer, and storyteller. He is now a regular at the Edinburgh festival in plays ranging from German Expressionism to Children’s theatre.

Matthew is also writer and director for ‘lifelike Theatre’ and his own company ‘TIN Horse Theatre’. For lifelike he has directed ‘Thinking of Happiness’, ‘Flim-Flam’, ‘Clean’ and wrote and performed in ‘The Distance.'

Matthew loves the range of possibilities that theatre has to offer and Tin Horse produced a site specific play called ‘Standing Friends’, for which they received rave reviews (‘Amazing’ – Felix Barrett, Artistic director of PunchDrunk ‘Best piece of theatre I’ve seen in years’ – Knockback magazine) www.tinhorsetheatre.co.uk Matthew is currently in the process of having two of his plays ‘Atlas’ (May 2008) and ‘Importance of stars’ produced (TBC) by Tin Horse.

He is currently rehearsing for a production of 'The Ragged Child' performing at the Rose Theatre in Kingston due April 2008.

Matthew ran a very successful Children’s theatre in Sutton for five year called Artsone with ages ranging from seven to eighteen.
